Atheists Must Look at History
Think about how Christianity survived—pagan religions before it sought to stamp it out because it was a threat. Atheism has to consider the same techniques that other religions used—because everyone seems to be susceptible to “religious” influence—and apply them to its own survival.
Its not enough to say “well, we’re right” because people don’t want to hear it. They want to feel good, they want “faith” and “belief.” Atheism has to be recast to fill the “gap” that religion takes advantage of.
Perhaps its time to consider that “indoctrination” of children is still useful, but change the package: critical thinking, scientific thought, and universal intellectual standards have to be recast into something not taought at the collegiate level, but in preschool!
